Suitcase Hassle Free

Sometimes the excitement of going on a vacation can be diminished by the scary thought of packing all your belongings but missing important items. In addition to clothing and footwear, we also have to take into account accessories, makeup, skin care essentials, and many other daily use things.

If you can relate to the above, we are here to your rescue! Read on as we list some of the easiest ways in which you can pack your suitcase without any extra hassle.

Now before we get started with packing hacks, we would like to advise you to create a packing list well in advance before you start with the entire process. This is the best and a full-proof way to verify that you have all the things that you might need when you reach your destination. Start creating a list at least five to seven days prior to the day you start packing. This will give you ample time to add things that you may have forgotten otherwise. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started!

Carefully plan the clothes before packing

It can be a bit difficult to separate the clothes that you want to take for your vacation from the ones you would not. But then again, overpacking is something that you want to avoid as well.

Open your wardrobe and take out clothes that you would want to take with you. Keep in mind the number of days that you are going as well. Instead of having separate sets of clothes for every single day, keep apparel pieces that can complement other pieces. Opt for wrinkle-resistant clothes too so that you don’t have to worry about the added fuss of ironing them.

You can also use compression bags that work great for sturdy and stiff materials. Even though it may sound complicated, it is actually quite easy to use. You need to simply put your clothes in these bags and then roll the bag which will automatically take out any air. And yes, you do not need to use any kind of vacuum while you do so.

Pack very lightly and you wouldn’t want to spoil your vacation with a heavy suitcase.

Use the functional clothes-folding techniques

Once you have sorted the clothes that you want to take, you can start with the packing.

One of the secrets to eliminating any excess bulk is by cleverly folding the clothes before putting them in your suitcase. While there are many, our favorite method is ‘the rolling technique’ where you simply roll the clothes as you would in the kitchen. This way you will be able to take more stuff with you. That too in an organized manner, without minimum to no wrinkles on them!

Rolling clothes is great for jeans, pants, joggers, and so on. You can also roll three to four pieces together in the case of T-shirts and tees as well. Also, place clothes that you think you will need as soon as you land, right at the top of the suitcase to prevent messing it.

Make your toiletries and other beauty products travel-friendly

As mentioned before, makeup and toiletries are also important additions that you need to make to your suitcase. For example, if you are traveling to a location that is experiencing winter, it would be better to carry suitable skin care items. Depending on your skin type, you can carry a lotion for dry skin or oily skin, along with a facial moisturizer.

To save space, simply buy travel-friendly containers and pour some of the product into these containers. Don’t forget to leave some space near the cap as sometimes the product can overflow due to the pressurized storage compartment in flights.

Avoid unnecessary and bulky footwear

For any trip, packing a pair of casual loafers, sneakers, and a pair of evening shoes should be enough. For ladies especially, the shapes and heels can take a lot of space which is why you should wear the bulkiest pair of shoes and then pack the other two.

Place the footwear along the sides of your suitcase after placing them in reusable bags. Again, shoes comfortable footwear so that you can enjoy your vacation to the fullest. If you have shoes that are mostly clean, you can also place a few items such as your phone charger, watches, sunglasses, etc in them as well.

Be careful with jewelry pieces and fragile objects

Firstly, if you can avoid wearing expensive jewelry pieces, please do as it would be better for your peace of mind. But if you do have to carry precious jewelry with you, wear it on you instead of packing it.

Talking about fragile objects, it’s important that you protect them from breakage and other damage by adequately padding them. Use stiff and heavy clothing for extra protection and always place them towards the bottom of your suitcase. Some airlines also offer options where you can flag items that are fragile by placing a sticker on it.

Don’t forget your travel essentials

Packing doesn’t necessarily only include items that you will need once you land at your destination. You also need to take into account the other things that can help to make your journey comfortable.

Don’t forget to add a neck pillow, a high-quality sleeping kit, alternate sources of entertainment, and your favorite snacks to make sure you stay super comfy whether you are traveling via flight or car. We will recommend that you invest in these items before you board the flight to ensure that you don’t end up in an unfortunate situation. This way, you will be able to enjoy the journey as much as you plan on enjoying your trip. If you take important medication, you can take out the needed amount and put them in small containers or a pill box. This way you will not have to worry about any space crunch.
